Magic-1

Of late I have developed an immense liking for Kashid Beach. It is located at around 180kms from Pune. My liking for the beach took me there again and as always the magic unveiled.

The white sands and the beautiful blue of the water met each others at regular intervals. The waves kept gossiping among themselves. I wanted to hear what they where saying so I went closer, my feet where in the water. The sand understood what I was up to and held my feet together, I couldn’t move!; I tried to pull out my feet but couldn’t and to add to my agony I saw a he bully wave. He was furious, and before I could realize anything he knocked me off.

I tried to open my eyes, where the hell was I?. My hands were floating, my legs too I mean I was floating!
“Are you alright?” some one asked me from behind
I turned around; it was a woman in her late 40’s. She looked very elegant in her long waving gown which had slight pink shade to it
“Who are you?” I asked
“I am the queen of this place?”
“ oh yes ..right…” I stopped myself from saying anything. This place looked nothing less than a palace, The huge chandelier at the top was something I had never seen in my life, the pillars reflected of gold, the drapes where probably made of the most exquisite material in this world.
The queen was now smiling
“Where am I?” I asked
“You are in the ocean.”
“I don’t understand”
She smiled in a subtle manner. “Let me explain, you are from the other world right”
“Other world!! What other world?” I asked again
She continued to smile. I didn’t like it, I couldn’t make any sense of what she was saying and she undeniably was enjoying every moment of this.
“See, this water part is OUR world and the land part is YOUR world. You are in OUR world right now”
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I had always seen cartoons and heard fables based on this but can it be true?
“How did I come here?”
“No one wanted you here” a husky voice from behind said.
This time it was a young guy with a very well built physique, he was probably in his early 20’s, and he was very fair with a free flowing mane.
“Now who the hell are..” before I could complete my words this guy had held me by the collar
“Now, leave him, you have hurt him already” the queen shouted
“These people need it; they don’t know how to stay in their part of the world”
“They are our guests”
“Then ask them to behave like guests and not to spoil our houses”

While the two were arguing I peeked at the room outside. It wasn’t a room but a huge hall or something like a meeting place. It was full of tall chairs made of ebony. The chandelier here was much bigger than the one I had seen inside. I couldn’t see the end of the dinning table. It probably stretched itself to another place altogether. The drapes were similar to the ones inside and there was a huge window at one corner of this room. I slowly swam towards the window. I was shocked ( for the umpteenth time). I could see the beach from here and all the people outside
“Where are my friends?” I asked myself
“Oh here you are” The queen said “I am sorry for his behavior. He is a little temperamental. He hates it when YOU people dirty our place”
Again for the umpteenth time I did not understand what she meant and then she continued to explain
“You see the ocean, sea is our homes and YOU people have always found our homes a good dumping ground. Our homes are getting smaller everyday because of YOU”

contd....

Magic -2

“I love the beaches and water and trust me I try my best to keep them clean but I really can’t stop anyone else”

She smiled again

“I know you are an honest person. We have seen you come here many a times and I was always eager to meet you but him…”she pointed towards the young guy “he thought I was angry and wanted to teach you a lesson”

“Oh  ...who is he by the way”

“He is the king of the waves and my son,”

“Oh…you know your majesty, this place is beautiful and I am really glad that I met all you people, but I want to go now”

“Not so soon, the king is already here and he wants to meet you personally”

There were whispers in the huge room and suddenly there was a sound of a huge trumpet followed by the sound of flowing waves. The king had arrived

“I heard, we have a guest” There was a loud voice which echoed

“Yes your highness, it is a man from the OTHER world, you remember the on we wanted to meet” The queen replied and pushed me forward towards the king

He had a huge crown of sea shells on his head which looked beautiful. He was slightly older than the queen but was immaculately fit.

“Hello my friend from the other world, the queen and I were eager to meet you the last time you came here but our son wasn’t here and before I could realize that you were here you had left”

I wondered why they wanted to meet me but I liked the royal experience

“Why did you want to meet me your highness?” I asked

“Son” he kept his huge arm around my shoulder “we like people who liked us and you have been our guest here so many times”

“Yes I do like this place Kashid a lot your highness, I like the shells here, I like the white sand, I like the water, I like everything about this place”

“We know that my son and that is why we decided to reward you”

I turned towards the queen, she still wore the subtle smile of hers and the prince was grumbling but I knew I was safe now.

The king clapped and in no time two servants appeared. He said something to them very softly. One of them rushed towards a small door at the corner of the hallway and brought something on a plate made of rocks

There was a leaf wrapped around it. The king slowly unwrapped the leaf; there was a beautiful shell inside the leaf.

I picked the shell from the plate and placed it on my hand. It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen

“Do you remember this?” The queen asked

Yes, indeed. I do remember it. It had a small ‘S’ carved on it. I remember I had found it on the beach the first time I had come here.  I had found the shell inside the water. I had picked it and had noticed the carving on it when a wave had hit me and I had lost it. Now I understood why I was wanted here and now I understood why I had lost it in the first place.

Everyone in the hall had a huge smile on their faces, the excitement on my face probably made them smile. But something strange started happening, the water started twirling, I could see the king and queen waving their hands to me, it was my time to go. I put my hand in the twirl and it sucked me in, surprisingly at the end of the twirl there was light, as I raised my hands, the sun light was too strong for me. I blinked till my eyes got adjusted to the light. My friends were kneeling around me. I coughed out the water in my lungs. I then realized that it was a dream. The waves had knocked me off so hard that I had hit a stone under the water. I could feel the bump on my head

“Thank god, man” swapnil said

“We all were scared, when the wave hit you….” Swapnil kept a hand on Megha’s shoulder

“Its ok Sameer, get up and try breathing for sometime, you’ve had enough water enter your lungs” Yogesh chuckled

“Yeah, I know, by the way you looked so conked when you were faint. When we pulled you out of the water, you were trying to breathe hard and moving your hands all over the place” Pady said

“But it is surprising, he gained conscious so soon” Yogesh added

“So what did you want?” Swapnil tried to give the two a piece of his mind. “Now help him get up. Let him breathe”

Yogesh, Pady and Swapnil, helped me get up when I realized something was in my hand.

Everything in front of my eyes was turning round, my feet were moving uncontrollably and then all I could see was black.

BROKEN HEART

I am a stranger in the woods,

A sailor in the ocean, a bird in the sky

But I fell in love don’t know why?

It seems the world is all fallen apart

Because the one I loved; I had to part

But I will fly again; will sail in the ocean again

Because I know someone some where is waiting with heart as big as the sky

To make me fall in love again

The woods are still green

The sea still blue

The sky as high as it had once been

Sail away my friend, soar to the sky

One day some one will come to you

Put together your broken heart

Hold your hand and stand by you

She will be yours till death make you part.

For LOVE

It’s such an old love story, such a common love story. The moon has risen to romance the night sky away, the stars bearing witness of their love. But at the break of dawn the night sky leaves the moon with a promise of meeting again. I am always jealous of the night sky, I am jealous of your immortality; you know every night the moon will come for you. Your love is going on for years and will go on for eternity. I will pray to god that when you take my life away let me be the night sky, so that I could wait for the moon however long it may take but I know it will come blushing All bright because it is in love with me.

मेरे दुश्मन मेरे भाई मेरे हमसाये

The following lyrics is from a song from the film border...it brought tears in my eyes

the song has a beautiful soul and i wish people from all over just listen to this and realize that there is no thing as religion, country caste or region which can divide the most important thing in this world which is humanity
God bless

The pause

In your life, there are a few minutes you spend remembering what you had done in life. There was this moment a few minutes ago and I felt a long long pause.
Porbably that was a reminder for me to do something. Its ironical people seem to always be busy with things and when they live these moments like i did a few minutes ago, its a pause.
They say that before you die u can see your whole life flash in front of your eyes.I dont know how true it is but if I really see my life flashing by I wish by then i would have lived a life where I could then just close my eyes and say
"well done"

Of Religions, places and wishes

Religion has been existent since mankind and has always been the driving force for our actions . It is so strange that there are so many religions and the corresponding beliefs in place and most of them claim that their path is to the road to divine blessings of the almighty. Such has been the affects of these religious practices that there have been wars in the name of religion for centuries and to some extent we see rifts and fights in the name of religion even today.

It makes one wonder what is right and what is wrong. Is going to a temple with folded hands in front of a lord the right way to worship? , or bowing your head in front of almighty at a mosque, or a gurudwara.or a temple …the list goes on. There are sacred places of each and every religion and there are innumerable visitors thronging to these places. Now isn’t it true that each of these places has that something different about them that people go there in huge numbers, be it the Makkah and Madina for the Muslims, Amarnath and Shirdi for Hindus, various churches which the Christians visit; we all would agree that there is a certain kind of divine presence in each of these places that people find their wishes fulfilled ,hearts and minds cleansed and sins forgiven. Isn’t the huge list enough fact that God or Allah or Bhagwan isn’t some one who is bounded by the walls of a mosque, temple or a church. Isn’t it still clear that god is still listening to you, even if you call yourself a Hindu, or a Muslim or a Christian or Buddhist etc? The only explanation I have for this could be that we haven’t realized or understood the almighty god, his grace and his divinity even after years of existence of the mankind.

But then there are other people who believe that the concept of god was created by mankind as an explanation for all the things man never understood. The diseases, floods, calamities and anything which has harmed mankind where looked upon to as the wrath of gods anger. Today with the help of technology there has been a better understanding of most things, but what still makes us believe that god is not just a concept is the very idea of creation of this world which is so perfect and harmonious. Each and every thing here has a purpose of its own and is been doing that for years. The rising and setting of the sun and the moon, the blue sky, the green trees all seem to have settled down in a particular harmonious existence. Can we say that all this is just a chance, because a few gases mixed? Or some things happened just by co incidence? The creation of man was just a fluke? Each and every part of our body has a meaning, a job, to enhance our chances of survival, is this all a fluke? Or the creation of the almighty, who with his great powers has created a masterpiece called the world.???

These questions if answered can change the face of humanity in a good way or a bad way and probably that’s the reason why these answers are still not with us, because it would disturb the harmony, the balance we live in. Remember we need both the good and the bad to coexist to maintain this balance.

While we ponder on the same questions which the mind has asked for years and years, let’s get back to religious places. Of all the stories behind these places and explanations as to why these places are special, there is one thought of rational explanation which seems to be the most convincing. The most striking thing one notices about the sacred places is the peace, the silence. Probably it’s the atmosphere which cultivates a desire in us to work to fulfill our wishes and hence we feel our prarthanas or duas or prayers have been answered. This leads to one conclusion that whatever it may be about the name of the religions or the way of prayers or your beliefs….the creator resides in the heart of his creation.
