THE PURSUIT

Life has a strange flavour to it, everything about this life is unique despite so many people living it at the same time, at the same place and probably living the same moment; but the beauty of it is that every life is still uniquely different. There is one thing which is common in all our lives and that’s our pursuit of happiness, our pursuit of love. I was walking on the very crowded J.M road, some people where walking towards me and some against me but everyone was walking towards his destination. We all try and do things to the best of our abilities; we dress up very well, we make sure we are respected and loved all this for one reason and that is when that one person comes in our lives, we would be prepared for it, so that when that one person comes in our lives, we would sweep him off his feet, so that when that one person comes in our lives, we can make sure that he never leaves. On this crowded road, eyes meet for fleeting seconds but we know that this fleeting second is enough for us to recognize him or her and that’s what I was doing, looking out for my love.

I reached the small park at the end of the road. It is adjoining a theatre called Balgandharva. I walked in to the park and the green was very pleasing to my eye. A cool breeze was blowing; the blue evening sky had a little pink and I wondered why it was blushing, maybe it was telling me something, but what?...hey may be today was my day.

I kept wandering around the park when I heard a giggle. There is this small fountain in a corner of the park. This fountain was surrounded by wild grass and the water wasn't clean either. The road leading to it was full of litter and maybe that’s why there wasn't any one there except for a girl. She was dark skinned and was very shabbily dressed. She had no ornaments on her, no watch on her wrist; all she had was a stick in her hand and dark glasses on her nose. That is when I realized that she was blind. I walked towards her, she had immersed her hand in the water near the fountain, and she then took her hand out of the water and was fiddling with the wild grass growing around it. Her touch was doing the work of her eyes. Just then I heard another noise. A man was walking towards the fountain, he too had a stick and wore dark glasses, and evidently even he was blind. He seemed to be walking towards the fountain, towards the blind girl.

The girl felt his presence close to her and called him. The man went close to her and sat beside her near the fountain. She held his right hand and guided it to the fountain water, there was a smile on his face too, he slowly raised his wet hand and moved his fingertips over her cheeks, and there was another chuckle. She pushed his hand away. He held her hand with his right and slowly placed a beautiful red rose on it. I don’t know how he selected the rose, because it was very beautiful. When she felt the rose, her face was glowing. They slowly stood up, held each other’s hands and walked away from the small fountain.

I had just seen the beauty of love. I wonder how his glance met hers in this huge crowd, I wonder how they fell in love, I wonder how they said it to each other, I wonder how he managed to find the most beautiful rose in the lot for her, I wonder how they fall in love every day. I walked towards the fountain. I closed my eyes and dipped my fingertips in the fountain water, It was cold and the grass was soft. I had learnt a lesson today and by the way the sky was not blushing for me, it was for these two people who might not look very beautiful but are very pure and had a beautiful soul.

I for a second was fooled by the sky and the sun knew it because he set across the horizon with a wicked smile.

Cheated

Today morning when I woke up, I couldnt figure out what exactly i was going to write on this blog, and like most indians i too believe that early morning prayers and wishes are always answered and guess what god gave me a great oppurtunity to write....
Well I had come to the college to get some photocopies done and I had parked my bike in front of metro stationers...which has a parking place which is one of the safest places around. Now here is the tragedy, my bike wasnt there after 10 mins and i started abusing the rto guys to the best of my abilities( not in front of them...i still had to get my bike back...u remember??)  and was thinking of calling Pune mirror or TOI , I could imagine my picture on the front page and people sympathising with me but all my dreams where shattered when a rickshaw driver who saw me came forward and told that, those guys picked my bike up because it was in no parking. Well how did that happen??? It was just that one of the guys who wanted a parking place conveniently pulled my bike down and parked his there, when i got to know about this from the rickshaw driver that person had escaped, so now now.....We people keep abusing the RTO people but i guess they did their duty, now this might be funny but trust me it isnt because this is cheating. If this was a country where all tickets are counted then at the count of 10 such tickets i would have lost my license and would be banned from applying for a license for a period of a year. We talk about so many things which should be done to improve our country but if things have to change, then the change should be within us, if this doesnt happen then our country will remain a 'Bol bacchan' for ever and no point criticising netas all the time, coz the netas are one among us only. If we change ourselves then only we will get better leaders. Its time for us to change
BTW getting back to my horrible day this wasnt the end of it more on it in some time
